Once you sign into myspace and go to home locate and click on "EDIT PROFILE" When the edit profile page opens locate the About Me box. This is where your layout code will be. If your website is new, there will not be anything in this box. You can dis-regard the illustration below. All you need to do is locate the layout you want and copy the code provided. Then return to your About Me box and paste the code into the box. You do that by right clicking in the box and selecting paste. Once the code is pasted in the box, your last step will be to click on the save changes button located above the About Me box. Now you can view your profile, and if you done everything right the new layout should appear correctly.
If a layout code has already been installed and you wish to change it but don't know how, then you need to follow these instructions.
If the code highlights blue as indicated your good to go. Just cut it, then follow instructions for copy and paste a code as though you just started your myspace.
Why Does My Background Not Show?
New Layout Code Not Working
There have been numerous reports that after installing my layout codes, that their background isn't showing. Or sometimes it shows until the page has fully loaded. This is not a result of my layout codes being corrupt. What the most likely cause is, is that you have installed a layout at an earlier date that required nothing more then click here to install this layout on your page. Confused yet? Don't sweat it, this is a very simple fix believe it or not. Go to myspace, sign in, and select home. Once there click on EDIT PROFILE. After this page opens look at the top right corner for the link PROFILE EDITOR, click on it. When this page opens, look for and select CUSTOMIZE. On this page you will see the link UNDO, select that and then a confirm pop up will ask if you really want to save these changes. Select YES, and go back to your myspace page. I'm sure you will see that everything is working as you wanted. This is one of the reasons myspace got rid of the click here to install this layout on your myspace. People were getting confused and irritated when their myspace layout wasn't working properly. This generally is a DO IT ONE TIME THING. So don't worry, if you decide to change your layout again, this shouldn't be a problem anymore.
